The Provincial Marathon & Nautilus Half Marathon are back on the calendar for September 27 2009.
Organizers are working with potential new sponsors and the NLAA Road Race Committee, and are confident that an economical security & safety solution will be found.

Glen this is great news! I had a flight already bought to run the Nautilus Half Marathon. Luckily I never told my wife at any point that it was looking like I might of had an extra day of free time!

This is good news and a big thank-you to the NLAA and NRC for re-considering. Let's hope now that lots and lots of runners will come out to support those two events.
Great news! It would have been a major shame for Newfoundland to lose its marathon.
Thrilled to hear that NRC and NLAA have reconsidered this event.
The running community should be working together to grow our only island marathon.
There have been wonderful new events added to the racing season - their success has largely been based on the weight of their sponsorship and the success of race registration.
Perhaps NRC can look to the running community for new sponsorship opportunities as well as greater racer participation.
