Nautilus Inn Of Olde Christmas Dash December 7

The Nautilus Running Club annual Quidi Vidi Inn of Olde Christmas Dash is Friday December 7 at 5:30pm.

Run one way from the Aquarena to the Quidi Vidi Inn of Olde (5.8k route HERE), enjoy a warm fire, a snack, a few laughs, and be sure to tuck a few bucks in your sock for a beverage or two and a taxi home.

Note this is NOT an official, organized, supported or sanctioned event so if you do partake please stay on the sidewalks and be careful out there! All are welcome but everyone runs at their own risk and there will be no marshals or traffic control.

This year's run will serve as a fundraiser for Kelda Farrell who is still on her long road to recovery following a tragic accident earlier this year. Nautilus will graciously accept a $10 donation from all participants and the club will match all funds raised.

CLICK HERE to make your donation now with PayPal or a credit card, or if you prefer you can make a cash donation at the event.

A New York Moment

Alison Butler was one of many NL Runners that missed out on the 2012 New York Marathon due to its post-Hurricane Sandy cancelation.

Not to be deterred, and to take advantage of those many months of training, Alison decided to run her own Unofficial NYC/NL Marathon right here at home, which she did this past Sunday. Friends and family supported her along the way with snacks, beverages and cheers, some even joining in to run with her for a few kilometers here and there!

Congrats to Alison on her unique marathon debut.

It is late in the year but the NL Running season is far from over! In addition to the Remembrance Day 11K, you can now sign up for the NLAA TC Media Cross Country Championships set for Sunday November 18.

You will enjoy the tranquil surroundings of GlenDenning Golf in Southlands, and this is a great opportunity for road runners to get off the pavement and onto the grass! Don't be intimidated by the word "Championships" in the title ... if you've never before run a cross country event this is a great place to start.

Sign up as an individual or if you run with an NLAA-affiliated club, encourage other members to join you and enter a team. You can even pitch a "Team Tent" to hang out in, and stick around for the tasty Awards Banquet later in the afternoon.
