Whelan & Morrissey Win Mundy Pond 5K

There was a record field of 220 finishers at Sunday's Mundy Pond 5K road race. Winds were gusty and cool leading up to the start but seemed to die down and warm up for the race ... the sun even peeking out for a few minutes!

Marty Whelan captured first place in 16 minutes 26 seconds followed by Michael Somppi in 16:35 and Mark Hayward in 17:16. First place female was Andrea Morrissey in 20:08 with Sheri-Lynn Burden seconds behind in 20:11 and Jennifer Barron third in 20:39.
