Terry Fox Tribute This Saturday

This Saturday marks the 34th anniversary of the day Terry Fox started his "Marathon of Hope" back in 1980. At 9am 8:30am Eddy Nolan of Montreal will be at the Terry Fox statue by the St. John's Port Authority Water Street east.

Mr. Nolan is spearheading a campaign to have April 12 recognized officially as Terry Fox Day in Canada to honour Terry's contribution to Canada and the world. A cancer survivor, he has for the past three years had runners in every Province and Territory run on this day as a tribute to Terry's dream, and he has run every Terry Fox Run (September) since 1981!

On this his first visit to Newfoundland, Eddy invites all runners, walkers and survivors to join him this Saturday as he re-traces Terry's initial route.
