D'Arcy Hart Passed Away

We regret to announce that long-time NL Runner and ANE member D'Arcy Hart passed away last week:
HART, D'Arcy - It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of D'Arcy Joseph Hart on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, in St. John's, NL. He was born on September 27, 1957 in Toronto, ON to Catherine (Shaughnessy) Hart and the late William Hart. Dearly loved husband of Lucy and devoted father of Kathleen and Shannon. Beloved brother of Michael (Kathie), Terry (Sue), Molly (Owen), Maureen (John) and Eileen. D'Arcy will be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. As a physicist, D'Arcy worked on collaborative projects for the International Space Station. He did not like to talk too much about his work but it often took him to the Von Braun Space Center in Alabama, the Johnson Space Center in Texas and Cape Canaveral, FL where he witnessed the launch of some of his work in the space shuttle. D'Arcy was a dedicated runner throughout his life, participating in numerous marathons, including the Boston Marathon. He continued to referee basketball and loved challenging hikes. He was always good for book suggestions if they involved mystery, horror or sci-fi.
Funeral service was earlier this week in Toronto. Thanks to Paul Lahey for the photo.
