This year's event will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the battle at Beaumont-Hamel with a Beaumont-Hamel 100 logo on race bibs along with the name of a deceased NL solider from that battle.
The proceeds from the USR are donated to uniformed services charities such as Soldier On Program, the Child Soldiers Initiative, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Museum, Moncton Fallen RCMP Members Fund and many more. The grand total for charitable donations from the USR in the last 5 years is in excess of $24,000.
