Blueberry Harvest 10K October 2

The Blueberry Harvest 10K road race in Harbour Grace is Sunday October 2 starting 10am.

Fee is $20 and pre-registration will be offered in person at the Running Room Churchill Square Wednesday September 28 from 5-8pm. You can also register race morning at the arena in Harbour Grace until 9:30am.

Nautilus Provincial 5K September 11

Registration is now open for the Nautilus Provincial 5K road race on Sunday September 11 starting 8am.

Again this year the race will run on the fast, flat out and back course along Water Street from Temperance Street to Patrick Street return. Reception immediately following the race in the Foran Room at City Hall.

Please note that the Bell Island Blast 10 mile road race is THIS SATURDAY August 20 starting 5pm.

You may have seen an outdated printed copy of the NLAA calendar incorrectly showing Sunday as race day but rest assured it is SATURDAY!

Online registration is now closed but you can register in person Saturday from 3-4pm at St.Michael's High School on Memorial Drive, Bell Island.

Blueberry 10K Moves To October

The Blueberry Harvest 10K road race in Harbour Grace is moving back a couple of weeks this year to Sunday October 2. Start time is moved to 10am so those travelling will have a little more time to work with on race morning.

The Bell Island Blast 10-mile road race is this Saturday August 20. Note the new Saturday 5pm start time and note also the addition of a 1-mile walk/run event. And you can take in Belle of the Bay Festival while you're on the island!

Power & McIlroy First In Quidi Vidi

Peter Power and Caroline McIlroy continue to show the dominance of our "seasoned" runners with their victories at Sunday's Quidi Vidi 5K. Both running in the 40-49 age group, Peter was first overall in 16:04 and Caroline was first lady in 17:43.

110 runners took part in the race and results are posted HERE.

Kelly Runs Through Cancer

Kelly Power moved from Admiral's Beach St. Mary's Bay to Nova Scotia some 15 years ago. Despite being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer early in 2010, her training and racing didn't miss a beat!

Kelly completed the Bluenose Half Marathon that year and again in 2011, and it seems that surgery, healthy lifestyle, and a positive attitude have left her cancer-free!

Quidi Vidi 5K Sunday

The Quidi Vidi 5K road race is this Sunday August 14 starting 8am. You can register in person race morning at the Quidi Vidi Boathouse from 7:15-7:45am.

Welcome Back Mercury

After a few years of low profile Mercury Athletics is re-booting and looking for new members.

Ray Will is returning as a part-time coach, and one of our communities leading runners Michael King will be working into the position of Head Coach.

The club plans to affiliate with the NLAA for next season and will hold regular practices and group runs. Casual and/or competitive runners are welcome!

St.John's Tri Results

Conditions were far less than ideal for Sunday's St.John's Triathlon but 133 athletes took on the race. Ryan Brown won the Standard Distance event and Jordan Baird won the Sprint.

Registration Record For Kids Of Steel


The Capital Subaru St.John's Kids of Steel is Regatta Day and registration numbers have grown to an all-time high with 250 kids expected to participate.

ONLINE REGISTRATION is open until 6pm tonight Tuesday August 2, Race Kit Pick-up is tonight from 7-9pm at Capital Subaru Kenmount Road, Athlete Check-in is Regatta Day 8am in Bowring Park by the pool with races beginning 9am.

If you can help out with this event please visit our VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP FORM and note that if the Regatta gets postponed so does the Kids of Steel.
