Winter Games Start Tomorrow In Clarenville

The 2014 NL Winter Games commence tomorrow with 1300 athletes, coaches, managers and attendants heading to Clarenville for a week of competition and camaraderie.

1st half sports run from Saturday through Tuesday including Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country Skiing, Hockey (Female) and Wrestling. 2nd half from Wednesday through Sunday will see events for Alpine, Badminton, Figure Skating, Gymnastics, Hockey (Male), Table Tennis and Volleyball.

A Host Committee of 20 Directors with dozens of sub-committee members, under the leadership of Greg Pittman has been working diligently for 2 years getting Clarenville ready for this event. The Clarenville 2014 office under the management of Brad Pitcher has been operating for the past year, and more than 600 volunteers including 100 officials will all pitch in to deliver these Winter Games.
