Brockerville 6th In Illinois

Ryan Brockerville ended his 2009 university outdoor track season this weekend with an excellent sixth place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the NAIA championships in Edwardsville, Illinois. His time on a hot, humid afternoon was nine minutes 12.24 seconds.

The 20 year-old distance runner returned home immediately after the event and will spend the summer preparing for the Canada Summer Games this August.

Meanwhile last weekend in her first major international race of the season, Julia Howard finished fourth in the 800 meters at an IAAF World Athletics Tour event in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In a very tight race, Howard recorded a time of 2 minutes 5.23 seconds, less than seven tenths of a second behind the winner from Trinidad and Tobago.
