Ryan Brockerville continued his outstanding season on Saturday by breaking a 27 year old provincial track record at the Payton Jordan Invitational Track and Field Meet at Stanford University, California.The Marystown native became the first Newfoundland runner to break 9 minutes for the 3000 meter steeplechase in returning a time of 8 minutes 58.37 seconds, taking more than three seconds off the senior record set by Jeff Collingwood in 1982.
Also competing in Stanford was Julia Howard from St.John's who ran 4 minutes 12.83 seconds to finish 7th in the 1500 meter.
