Rick Hansen Relay Participants

25 years ago Rick Hansen had a dream to make the world more accessible and inclusive, and to find a cure for spinal cord injury. For 26 months he and his team wheeled over 40,000 kilometers through 34 countries, raising awareness of the potential of people with disabilities.

In preparation for the 25th Anniversary Relay which will re-create the Canadian-portion of his original Tour, 7000 Canadians are needed to help cover the 12,000 kilometre trek across Canada. These participants who have made a difference in the lives of others, will carry the coveted Rick Hansen Medal and will walk, wheel or run in the Relay when it begins on August 24, 2011 in Cape Spear, Newfoundland and Labrador and concludes on May 22, 2012 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

If you would like to be one on the Relay Participants for the NL leg between August 24 and September 8, you can apply online before June 1 at www.rickhansenrelay.com.
