Men 3rd / Women 5th At AUS Cross Country

Memorial Seahawks Men finished in the Bronze Medal position behind SFX and Dalhousie at this weekends AUS XC Championship in Halifax.

Jordan Fewer led the team with a 9th place finish in 34:03 on the 10k course in Point Pleasant Park. Connor Bolton 14th (35:05), Matt Power 16th (35:37), Mark Hayward 18th (35:51), Chris Lowe 27th (37:58), Mike Scott 29th (38:21) and Dan Conway 30th (38:24) all contributed to the Seahawks success. Head Coach Art Meaney was very gratified that the team had four runners in the top 20 in such a strong field, one of the best team performances in recent years.

On the Womens side Amanda Wilkins, back from an injury that kept her on the sidelines most of this season, ran the best cross country race of her career on the 6k course and finished 12th running 24:14. Coach Meaney said Wilkins performance was very impressive and an indication of the hard work and dedication she put into her recovery. It enabled her to finish her cross country career at Memorial on a high note. Wilkins was followed by Megan Ryan 26th (25:53), Evangeline Fletcher 35th (26:39), Justine O'Leary 37th (27:07), Emily Hickey 41st (27:44), Victoria Healey 42nd (27:45) and Alana Loveys 44th (27:55). The Womens team was 5th in the standings.
