With what is now the largest 5K field in Newfoundland & Labrador history, Sunday morning's
Nautilus Mundy Pond 5K saw 469 runners cross the finish line! It was a
shorts and singlet kind of morning with temperatures broaching 10 degrees, plenty of sunshine, and NO WIND!
David Freake got the win in 15 minutes 37 seconds followed by
Matthew Power in 16:38 and
Charlie Kourvelas in 16:43. Right on Charlie's heels was
Mark Greene also clocking 16:43 but settling for 4th place.
For the ladies it was a victory for
Anne Johnston in 17:23 with
Caroline McIlroy second in 18:02 and
Karen Stacey third in 18:39.
