Athletics North East presented their Annual Awards last Saturday recognizing the following recipients:
- Male Volunteer of the Year - Steve Delaney
- Most Spirited Male - Ed Durnford
- Most Improved Male - Mark Croft
- Top Male Under 35 - Charlie Kourvelas
- Top Male 35 and Over - Peter Power
- Female Volunteer of the Year - Tammy Butler
- Most Spirited Female - Joanne Taylor-Cole
- Most Improved Female - Melinda Saunders
- Top Female Under 35 - Steph Nevin
- Top Female 35 and Over - Jennifer Murrin
There was also a new "Recognition" award added this year, to recognize individual(s) for their work in facilitating certain aspects of the club's operations, with this year's focus on "training".
Ed Durnford and
Will Small were recognized for their efforts in working with the morning and evening groups respectively. Both individuals played a key role in developing the training plans & schedules, organizing the runs, and leading the workout sessions.
