Adey & Justiniano Capital Subaru Huffin' Puffin Marathon Champions


Jonathan Adey captured the Capital Subaru Huffin' Puffin Provincial Marathon title on Monday completing the scenic 2-loop 42.2 kilometer course in 3 hours 4 minutes 37 seconds. Tony Pike was 2nd in 3:05:44 with Steve Emberley 3rd in 3:08:12. In the ladies race it was Denisse Justiniano 1st in 3:25:49 followed by Thelma Greene in 3:34:01 and Laura Lawes in 3:45:19.

The Capital Subaru Half Marathon was won by Peter Power in 1:17:29 with Adam Chambers 2nd in 1:17:45 and Jason Guy 3rd place male (4th place overall) in 1:20:55. For the ladies it was Jennifer Murrin for the win (and 3rd place overall) in 1:17:57, capturing Gold for the 3rd consecutive year! Jennifer Barron was 2nd in 1:23:33 with Stephanie Tee 3rd in 1:29:19.

The event also features the Capital Subaru Marathon Team Relay with teams of 4 and each runner completing 10-11 kilometers of the course. The winning team was Work of Art (Nick Snow, Adam Snow, Chris Galley and Tyler Cole) in 2:33:04.

All in all some 630 participants and 220 volunteers enjoyed a beautiful Labour Day Monday at Bowring Park, downtown St. John's and Quidi Vidi Lake!
