Ryan Brockerville of Marystown continued his outstanding freshman year at Simon Fraser University with a very strong third place finish in the Pete Steilberg open cross country meet at Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington, Saturday.
Brockerville's time over the 8k course was 25 minutes 27 seconds, just fourteen seconds behind the record breaking run by the winner from University of Victoria. Brockerville's performance helped his team to a first place finish.
At the same meet, St. John's native Julia Howard - herself a graduate of Simon Fraser - finished fourth in the women's 5k race with a time of 18 minutes 17 seconds.
